Description
A black-and-white photograph of Disc Jockey Bill “Hawk” Hawkins with Herbert “Hot Sauce” Williams. Williams are Hawkins depicted in profile, seated behind a DJ console, facing each other. Williams is seated on the left with his proper left elbow is resting on console and his other arm rests in his lap. He is wearing a tall, white, paper chef hat, medium-toned trousers, and a white short sleeve, collared shirt. Hawkins, seated on the right, is reading from a piece of paper he holds in his proper left hand and gesturing with his proper right hand. Hawkins is wearing a medium-toned suit, white collared shirt, a dark patterned bow tie, and has a white pocket square in his left breast pocket. Behind the two men is a DJ console with various dials, nobs, button, and a white gauge. Sitting on the console in front of Hawkins is a silver tone microphone with a rounded microphone flag with the radio station call sign, [WSRS], visible. On top of the console is a triangular shaped rack holding five long-playing records. In the background is a glass window next to an acoustic wall panel with small perforations along the top half. The photograph has a white frame and a landscape orientation. The back of this photograph is white and plain with a photographer’s stamp and inscriptions. The black ink stamp at the center reads [“Another Photo” / BY CLEMENT PERRY / GLENVILLE 8927]. The inscription in the top left corner written in black ink reads [April 1949]. There is also a red pencil inscription at the top center that reads [Hot Sauce Williams]. Along the left edge is a pencil inscription [6[encircled]], and the text, [ow], written vertically in pencil near the center right edge.
