His proper left arm is resting at his side and his proper right arm is extended in front of him to shoulder level, with his elbow slightly bent, and his hand-held palm upwards in a loose fist. In front of him is a silver tone microphone stand with a microphone flag at the top, that reads [WJW]. The white acoustic wall panel behind Hawkins has two rectangular panels of perforations. There is a row of four folding chairs set up against the wall behind him. The photograph has a white border that is slightly thicker on the right and a portrait orientation.
