Description
A printed script for the NBC4 news segment called “Vance’s View” featuring Jim Vance. The script describes Jim Vance’s first impressions of the National Museum of African American History and Culture and describes how the experience evoked memories of his father. In it, Vance describes the discrimination his father faced as a plumber in 1946 after serving as a soldier in WWII. The script ends with Vance saying that his father’s story is represented in the museum as is his own story. The script is printed in black ink on yellow paper. It is four pages long. Each page has a header that reads “VANCE’S VIEW – museum / 6PM NEWS – 9/29/2016 5:59:15 PM – WRC Ross Overdrive” on the left side and “9/29/2016 7:03:43 PM” on the right. Portions of the text on the fourth page (2019.12.2d) of the script are underlined in black ink. Handwritten in black ink in the center of the page is “WE'LL GO UPSTAIRS.”
