This jumpsuit was worn by Max Julien in the 1973 film The Mack. The Mack was directed by Michael Campus and tells the story of a pimp, Goldie Mickens, who grows an underworld empire in Oakland, California. One of the most influential films of the blaxploitation era, the film starred Julien as Goldie Mickens and Richard Pryor as Slim.
Description
A red, blue, and cream geometric patterned one-directional ponte knit polyester jumpsuit worn by Max Julien as the character John "Goldie" Mickens in the 1973 film The Mack. At the neck, the jumpsuit has a wide collar and opens up into a deep V-neck. A metal zipper with plastic teeth runs to the middle of the torso. The pant section of the jumpsuit is form fitting at the hip and widens out to a bell-bottom. The back of the knit fabric appears blue in the interior of the suit.
