- Description
- A sepia tone carte-de-visite of a man on a burro in Lima, Perú. Captured outside in front of a large dark wooden door, a man wearing a rounded hat holds two barrel-shaped objects yoked onto a light colored burro. Below the image in light brown ink is: [COURRET HERMANOS / Calle Mercaderes 197, LIMA.] and a large red ‘N’ for Nadar family photographers.
- On the reverse of the carte-de-visite are several numerical inscriptions, the photographer’s information: [COURRET HERMANOS / SUCCESSORES DE MAUNOURY / Corresponsal de la Casa] beneath an elaborate coat of arms in dark ink, and in red [Nadar / DE PARIS], followed by [LIMA.] in black ink.
