- A black-and-white carte-de-visite of abolitionist minister Henry Highland Garnet.
- Garnet is posed seated, wearing a dark jacket, button-down vest and trousers. He gazes directly at the camera wearing a white shirt and tucked neck-bow before a solid backdrop. At the bottom of the photo card in light brown print is “Rockwood” and “839 B’way, N.Y.” On the reverse of the photo card is a green imprint of a cherub seated atop a very large book, painting on the canvas at easel: [ROCKWOOD / PHOTOGRAPHER / 839 BROADWAY / N. Y.].
