- Description
- A flier for Nubian Productions' "Super Jam Throw Down Disco" at the Bronx River Center on Saturday, November 15, 1980, designed by Eddie Ed. The flier is printed in black ink on whitepaper and features text in numerous hand-lettered fonts and an illustration of a Zulu Nation warrior figure at the bottom right.
- The flier text begins with the event title and then lists the headliners and other performers, including: DJ Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Jazzy Jay, DJ Red Alert, Soul Sonic Force, Mr. Biggs, Pow Wow, Lisa Lee, Globe, Cosmic Force MC’s, DJ Breakout, DJ Baron, The Funky 4 Plus 1, Trecherous 3 MC’s, and DJ Grand Master Jaz. This is followed by a list of "invited MC's" and the venue, date, and cover information. On the right of the flyer is a drawing of a male figure holding a spear and Zulu Nation shield. By his leg on the right printed vertically is “BRETT BARNES / Soul Brothers / Flyer Production”. In small, fine, black print along the far vertical right of the flyer is a dedication, “from Bambaataa. . . to Popeye, Johnny, Dyrone and Zulu Queens”. Along the bottom edge is [ANOTHER / EDDIE-ED DOOII FLYER PRODUCTION 1980 TO TRACEY W.]. There are no markings on verso.
