- Captured up close, a young Terri Lyne Carrington plays the drums with her father, Matt, who plays the saxophone behind her. Terri Lyne wears a collared long sleeve plaid dress; Matt wears a long sleeve polka dot shirt.
- On the white reverse of the photograph is an inscription in turquoise felt tip pen near the top, is: [Matt Carrington Saxophone, Terri Carrington / Ebony 4-77 not used]. A black ink stamp identifying the photographer, G. Marshall Wilson, is marked in middle.
