- A PNG digital illustration of the “entry view” from a project titled “Black Effect” by Tobi Ashiru. The project is an artistic reimagining of the National Museum of African American History and Culture with this view depicting the approach to the east side entrance of the building.
- In the foreground, rendered in gray with green grass and trees on either side, is the footpath leading towards the building with a circular entrance plaza in front. The plaza is encircled with low white benches. In the center are several white plinths of varying heights. On and among the plinths are depictions of bronze statues of Tommie Smith (left) and John Carlos (right), standing with raised fists as they did during the medal award ceremony at the 1968 Olympics. To the right of the plinths is a water feature presented as segmented, concentric rings of blue. To the left is the entrance to the Museum, depicted as two-story and asymmetric with a gold overhang. The Museum is depicted with a ground-floor entrance hall of light blue glass panels followed by three crown-shaped tiers rendered in black and white asymmetrical stripes. Cut into the right side of the second and third tiers are sections of glass, gold, and foliage representing an outdoor garden space. The sky beyond the Museum is rendered in yellow and shaded at the top with small black circles.
