- Description
- A sepia tone photographic postcard of Andrew and Allen Austin. The postcard is in landscape orientation. The men are depicted in full length, with one standing and one seated on a low stone wall prop just left of center. The man on the left is facing the viewer, standing with his hands clasped together at his waist. He is wearing a dark tone pinstripe suit, a white dress shirt, a dark tone tie, and two tone wingtip shoes. He also has a white pocket square tucked in his proper left breast pocket, a round lapel pin, and a straw boater hat with a dark band at the crown. The man seated on the low stone wall proper on the right is also facing the viewer, with his leg turned slightly towards the left edge of the image. His arms are crossed over his lap and he has a serious expression on his face. He is wearing a light tone, double breasted suit, a white dress shirt, a dark tone tie, dark wingtip shoes, and a straw boater hat with a dark band at the crown. In the background is a photography backdrop depicting a square shaped building on a rocky hilltop with a drive leading down to a shoreline. There is a wide white border on the left side of the image and a loss at the bottom right corner. The reverse has a landscape orientation and is white with black ink text. The text [POST CARD] is written in outlined letters across the top with sections for [CORRESPONDENCE] on the left, and [ADDRESS] on the right. At the top right is an AZO stamp box. The postcard is blank. Vertical handwritten text next to the stamp box reads [Mr allen austin]. There is additional handwritten text written upside down at the center that reads [Mr. andrew austin].
