She is resting her proper left elbow on the armrest and her hand is draped over her proper left thigh. Her proper right forearm is resting in her lap. She is wearing a white blouse with puffy sleeves and a high collar and a full, white skirt. Two rows of stripes ribbons are woven horizontally through the blouse at chest level terminating on the proper left side at a silk flower embellishment. Her hair is arranged in a pompadour style with a bow perched on the top, proper left side of her head. Behind her is a cloudy photographic backdrop. The rectangular photograph is adhered a cream color, cardboard mount. The mount is embellished with several embossed rectangular frames around the photograph. The corners of the mount are rounded. Embossed text at the bottom center of the same reads [C.Q. Brown's / ART STUDIO.]. There are pinholes at the top and bottom center. The back of the mount is also cream colored.
