- Description
- A black-and-white photograph, Untitled (Nomsa Brath modeling Congolese fabrics, Stern’s department store, New York), by Kwame Brathwaite. The photograph depicts Brath walking the runway. The Grandassa model is wearing dark, capri pants, black kitten heel shoes, and a sleeveless, boatneck blouse with a large swath of the blouse’s fabric draping to the floor from a tie on the proper left side of the waist. The fabric of the blouse is white with a black outlined, medium tone, freeform diamond pattern. The runway is lined with female spectators seated in metal folding chairs, mostly watching the model as she walks down the runway. Above the model’s head are two, evenly spaced, white, round ceiling fixtures. At the back of the runway are three dark arches. The square shaped image has a thick white border. The back of the photograph is plain and white.
