- Description
- Black and white gelatin silver developed-out photographic print of Rosa Parks at the March on Washington. She is pictured from the waist up, standing within a crowd. She wears dark gloves, pearl necklace and a light-colored jacket with a round pin-back button on the proper left-side reading [MARCH ON WASHINGTON / FOR JOBS & FREEDOM / AUGUST 28, 1963]. Her gloved hands are held in front of her chest with her fingers interlaced. She stares straight ahead. At right is the close up partial profile of a man is in the right foreground. Out of focus in the background is a crowd of several more figures behind her. On the verso is the photographer's stamp in black ink at center and a graphite inscription at bottom center reading "PF144236."
