Description
A black-and-white photograph of Reverend C. T. Vivian, by Platon. Vivian is depicted from the thighs up, standing and facing the viewer. His chin is tilted slightly upwards, his eyes are closed, his eyebrows are furrowed, and he has look of intense concentration on his face. His proper left arm is extended outward to his side and bend at the elbow. He is holding his proper left hand open and palm outwards towards the viewer, just above his head. He is holding his proper right hand in front of him, palm down, at waist level. He is wearing a shiny, dark tone suit, medium tone dress shirt, and a light tone tie with a square pattern. The background of the photograph is bright white. The photograph has a thick white border. The edition number, [5/12], is printed in the bottom left corner. The photographer’s signature and date, [Platon 19], is handwritten in the bottom right corner. Inside the border, at the bottom center, is the photographer’s embossed mark: [PLATON ? / EDITIONED ? / PRINT ?[encircled between two bands of embossed dots]]. The back of the photograph is plain and white.
