- Description
- This is a color archival pigment print from a digital file. The photograph depicts a full-length image of five women in orange and light blue carnival-like outfits during the West Indian Day parade in Brooklyn, New York. Staggered as two, one, two on a staircase, the five women are all posing with one hand on their hip and the other holding an orange and light blue flag on a black pole. They are all wearing the same carnival outfit: a matching light blue bra top with orange trim and dangling beads, an orange belt with accents of light blue and dangling beads, and light blue bottoms. On their heads is a large headpiece decorated with orange gems, light blue feathers, and orange feathers. The outfits are accessorized with dangly light blue earrings, a matching choker with, orange and light blue bands on each bicep and below each knee, and gold-colored sneakers. The two women in the front row have the Guyana flag tucked into their belt. They are standing on the entrance staircase of a red brick townhouse. The steps are grey concrete with red brick rises. The door at the top of the stairs is white with red trim.
