- This is a color photograph of the 1963 March on Washington by James P. Blair of the 1963 March on Washington. The image depicts Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a podium with many microphones attached. He shown from his left-hand side and slightly from below. Dr. King is gesturing with his right hand outstretched. The back of three people’s heads are visible in the foreground of the image. One person is wearing a light-colored hat.
