The rectangular portraits are arranged in a staggered pattern from the outside edges and narrowing to a point at the right-hand side, where there is a barcode. In the bottom right-hand corner is black text that reads "RECONSTRUCTIONS SPECIAL / BY DAVID HARTT."

The special section features interviews by David Hartt with architects, designers, and artists comprising the Black Reconstruction Collective (BRC): Emanuel Admassu, Germane Barnes, Sekou Cooke, J. Yolande Daniels, Felecia Davis, Mario Gooden, Walter Hood, Olalekan Jeyifous, V. Mitch McEwen, and Amanda Williams. The BRC’s “Manifesting Statement” is also printed in the special section.
