- Description
- A colorful needlepoint work (a) crafted by Julian F. Abele, in a gold frame (b).
- This multicolored yarn needlework is a circular design of variously sized flowers and leaves. The circular edging is made of black yarn. The edging is preceded by large leaves throughout, primarily in reds and greens. Flowers appear throughout in colors of blue, yellow, brown, pink, and ivory. The needlework is sewn to a gridded sand-colored canvas, the four uncut corners of which stretch into the four corners of the square, gold-colored metal frame. On the reverse of the frame are two white and blue labels with handwritten inscriptions reading [016011 / 01689] and [Handmade by / JULIAN FRANCIS / ABELE]. Printed in dark blue at the bottom of each label is [MADE IN FRANCE].
