- Description
- A black-and-white archival print of Maya Angelou and Cecil Williams standing side-by-side with arms around each other at Glide Memorial Church. Angelou wears a long-sleeve shirt and skirt and holds papers in her right hand; Williams wears a turtleneck and jeans and holds a paper in his raised left hand. Additional individuals at left and right clap in celebration. Many of them, including Angelou, are blurred from movement. A drumset is visible in the background at right. The wall in the background appears to have images projected on it; one motif is suggestive of a butterfly wing. On back at top left in pencil is [1972 - San Francisco]; at center is [Stephen Shames / 2/10].
