- Description
- A black-and-white archival print of Sallye Davis speaking at a Free Angela rally at DeFremery Park in Oakland, California. She stands at a microphone with a sheaf of papers in her left hand and her right hand making an accentuating gesture. She wears a headband, eyeglasses, and an ornately patterned garment with political buttons on the lapel. At left is an individual facing her wearing a boldly patterned white and dark garment. At right, a child in a striped shirt stands in front of a man wearing eyeglasses, a floral-patterned shirt, and beret with arms crossed. Davis is standing in front of the DeFremery Recreation Center, a Victorian-style house sited in the park. Hanging from the porch roof is a sign that reads [Free Sister Angela / & ALL Political Prisoners]. On back at top left in pencil is [1972 - Oakland]; at center is [Stephen Shames / 2/10].
