- Description
- This is a color lithograph that depicts a young Black girl from the chest upwards. The child wears a Brownie uniform that consists of a jumper with wide straps over a button-down blouse. A short tie is crossed and buttoned at the neck, and a wide sash is draped over the right shoulder. She wears a round beanie on her head. The uniform is rendered in shades of gray with washes of brown, especially over the sash and beanie. There is a white halo around the girl’s head, that fades out to a dark green and black background. The word “BROWNIE” is written in large red letters across the bottom center margin, along with several large red splotches. The lithograph is numbered, titled, signed and dated by the artist along the bottom margin: [32/50; BROWNIE; K.J. MARSHALL '95].
