- Description
- A quilt of composed of colorful cotton fabrics with beads and sequins depicting the figure of a woman in a green dress against the stars and stripes imagery of the United States flag. Oriented vertically, the main field of the quilt is composed of strips of various red, white, and cream fabrics to form stripes. The stripes are vertical in the center and horizontal in the upper right corner. At right is the figure of a Black woman in a green dress with a red rose in her hair next to the words [I Count!] in black fabric. Set into the upper left corner is a rectangle composed of various pieces of blue printed fabrics with imagery of an American flag, a hand, the figures of a woman and child walking, and the continent of Africa. Along the bottom edge is a line of yellow triangles followed by a wider strip fabric with a red background and a pattern of flying eagles. The top and sides of the quilt are edged in a deep blue fabric. There are beads and sequins throughout.
