- Description
- A black-and-white photograph of Kamoinge Workshop member, Beuford Smith, captured by Anthony Barboza. The close-up portrait of Smith depicts from the neck up. He is directly facing the viewer, wearing a dark tone jacket over a white dress shirt, a denim newsboy cap, and thick, plastic, aviator-style glasses. He has a trimmed, chevron-style mustache. The proper left side of Francis’ face and neck is in shadow.
- Beneath the image in the bottom left corner is the title, year, and edition number handwritten in black ink: [Beuford Smith 1972 1/5]. In the bottom right corner is photographer’s signature in black ink: [A. Barboza].
- The verso of the photograph has a handwritten inscription and photographer’s signature written in black ink just above the center reads [Kamoinge 1972 / 1st set of 5 / printed on Hahnemuhle / Feb 2018 / Anthony Barboza].
