- Description
- A 2018 limited edition photozine titled Knox Roxs: The Zine designed by Jennifer White-Johnson and written by Jennifer White-Johnson and Kevin T. Johnson Jr. The front cover features a color photographic image of Jennifer White-Johnson and Kevin “Knox” Johnson III. The close-up, partial image of White-Johnson and Knox Johnson depicts them laying on a tan, carpeted floor with their arms extended and Knox Johnson playing with his mother’s curls while White-Johnson looks directly at her son. Large yellow text at the center of the cover reads [KNOX / ROXS]. The back cover features a smaller color photographic image of Jennifer White-Johnson and Knox Johnson laying on a tan, carpeted floor. The image was taken from above and shows the top of White-Johnson’s head, nose tip, and proper left cheek in the bottom right corner. She is resting her hand on the top of her son’s head. Knox Johnson is laying on his back and looking at the viewer. He is resting his curled, proper right hand on the tip of his nose. He is wearing a red and gray tee-shirt. The rest of the cover is rose pink. Centered along the bottom edge of the back cover is darker pink publisher’s logo with text that reads [homie / house / press]. The words [homie] and [house] share a large letter “h.” The interior pages includes short essays written by [MOMMY] and [DADDY], quotes, color graphics, and black-and-white and color photographs of Knox Johnson. The zine is saddle stitched and has 66 pages. Included is a color poster insert (NMAAHC 2022.87.4.2).
