Description
A mini zine from the Kids Solidarity Mini Zine Pack titled The Moon Zine, designed by Jennifer White-Johnson and written by Kevin “Knox” Johnson III. The mini zine is constructed from a single sheet of heavy weight paper that has a slit at the center and has been folded into eighths, creating a six page booklet. The front of the single page is divided into eight panels which form the six interior pages and the front and back covers. The back of the page is in portrait orientation and features composite image that includes a cut out image of Knox Johnson, standing on a precipice, reaching both arms upwards towards a large image of the moon. Large white text at the bottom reads [FLY ME TO / THE MOON!]. In its folded format, the front cover features images of the moon in varying states of fullness. The zine title and author’s credit, [THE MOON / ZINE / BY KEVIN] is printed in white text over the moon images. The back cover is white with the word [MOON] printed in wavy, repeating text. The interior pages include white and blue text and white and blue illustrations. Pages one and two are blue with the word [MOON] printed in large, repeating, white text printed in concentric arches. Pages three and four feature white text printed over an image of the moon that reads [I WISH I / CAN FLY ON THE / MOON.]. The background is primarily blue that has been irregularly cross hatched with white lines over the blue background and with blue lines over the moon image. Pages five and six feature a collage image that depicts a cut out photographic image of Johnson sitting on the surface of the moon with the Earth in the distance over his proper right shoulder. White text printed between the Earth and the moon reads [I LANDED ON THE MOON].
