Description
A mini zine from the Kids Solidarity Mini Zine Pack titled This is Me, designed by Jennifer White-Johnson and written by Kevin “Knox” Johnson III. The mini zine is constructed from a single sheet of white, heavy weight paper that has a slit at the center and has been folded into eighths, creating a six page booklet. The front of the single page is divided into eight panels which form the six interior pages and the front and back covers. The back of the page is white and plain. In its folded format, the front cover features a black-and-white close-up photographic image of Knox Johnson. The image depicts Johnson’s proper left eye, cheek, and the side of his nose. His skin is covered in water droplets. The title of the zine is printed in white text at the bottom center that reads [This is / ME]. The back cover features the other half of the close-up of Johnson’s face. The author’s credit is printed in white text at the center left that reads [a zine by / Kevin “Knox” Johnson III]. The interior pages include black and white text, black-and-white photographs, and color photographs. Page one features a cut out image of Johnson set against a yellow background. There are two smiling emojis above his head. Black text printed at the top reads [My name is Kevin! / I’m Autistic.]. Page two features a color photograph of Johnson standing in grassy field with trees in the background. He is wearing a black, white, and orange top and is holding a sticker towards the viewer that reads [BLACK / AUTISTIC / LIVES / MATTER] between his proper left thumb and index finger. Printed on pages three and four is a list titled [My Challenges:] printed in black ink on a white background. Printed on pages five and six is a list titled [Some ways to help me!] printed in black ink on a yellow background.
