Description
A mini zine from the Kids Solidarity Mini Zine Pack titled This is Me: You can also call me Knox, designed by Jennifer White-Johnson and written by Kevin “Knox” Johnson III. The mini zine is constructed from a single sheet of white, heavy weight paper that has a slit at the center and has been folded into eighths, creating a six page booklet. The front of the single page is divided into eight panels which form the six interior pages and the front and back covers. The back of the page is white and plain. In its folded format, the front cover is pink and features a cut out, color, photographic image of Knox Johnson. The image depicts Johnson from the chest up with his arms held akimbo. He is wearing a black, long sleeve shirt and is smiling. The title of the zine is printed in white and black text below that reads [Hi, my name / is Kevin! / You can also call me Knox!]. The image of Johnson is outlined in white, accented with blue triangles, illustrated stars, and three small, round, cropped images of starry space. The back cover is yellow and features a thank you written by Kevin T. Johnson Jr., Knox Johnson, and Jennifer White-Johnson along with a cut out photograph of the three of them. The interior pages include black, red, and white text, black-and-white photographs, and color photographs. Page one is an introduction by Knox Johnson printed in red and black ink with a red infinity symbol, representing neurodiversity solidarity, at the bottom. Page two features a red tinted photograph of Knox Johnson wearing a stiped shirt and smiling directly at the viewer. Superimposed over the image is a list titled [Things I Love!] with a graphic of a game controller at the bottom. Printed on pages three and four is a color photograph of Johnson wearing a black, long sleeve shirt, a pair of red headphones, and is holding his hands together with his fingers in a steeple-like shape. He is facing the viewer and has his tongue between his teeth. Printed in red text in an arch above his head is the title of the list, [UNDERSTAND MY STIMS], with the list printed in small black text on either side of him. Printed on pages five is a list titled [My Challenges:], and on page six is another list titled [Some ways / to help me!]. Both list titles are printed in red with the lists printed in black text below on a white background.
