- The first DVD (a) opens with Dr. Philip Dolce welcoming the everyone to the program. He also invites several individuals to provide opening remarks including William Corcoran, Frank Regino, and Jim Tedesco. Their remarks are followed by Prof. Maureen Ellis Davis, who delivers a lecture on changes in suburbia during the 20th century. Topics discussed in her lecture include the distinction between community and neighborhood; some of the factors that facilitated suburbanization; legislation and practices that affect housing; redlining; the development of Levittown; the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1965; and white flight. Her lecture is followed by Nobel Wray's presentation on implicit bias and policing.
- The second DVD (b) continues with Nobel Wray's lecture on implicit bias. Topics covered in this portion of his presentation include definitions of bias; explicit vs. implicit bias; ways to reduce implicit bias. The second portion of the recording features a panel discussion on diversity and policing moderated by Frank DelVecchio. The panelists include Gurbir Grewal, Michael Saudino, Rev. Gregory Jackson, and Councilwoman Dana Martinotti. Topics discussed include the impact of diversity on policing in suburbia; the impact of diversity as it relates to schools and law enforcement; the ways that diversity has impacted policing at the local level; how the "Ferguson effect" might have impacted policing in Bergen County; the impact of racial difference on police, community, and school relations; whether there should be changes in how police officers are trained; equipment that police departments use such as body cameras.
