- Description
- A reprint of a black-and-white photograph of Hazel Scott at age three. Scott is depicted in full length next to a piano bench. Scott is standing with her proper left arm akimbo and her proper right hand resting on top of a piece of white paper resting on the surface of the bench. Her proper right leg is crossed over her proper left at the ankle. She is wearing a black dress with blousy peasant top cinched at the waist with a plain white belt. Two white pom-poms dangle from strings at the front center of the neckline. She is also wearing a black shorts, calf high striped socks, and white shoes. Her hair is pulled back and secured with a large, medium tone bow at the back of her head. She is facing the viewer and has a slight smile on her face. Black printed, diagonal, cursive text in the bottom right corner of the image reads [Hazel]. The text is printed over Scott’s ankles and calves. The wooden piano bench is rectangular in shape with cabriolet legs, an ornately, carved skirt, and a plain top with a dark fabric covered seat. The verso of the photograph is plain with a repeating pattern of light gray text that reads [Kodak / Picture / Maker / Paper].
