- Description
- A black and white photograph of Roy Campanella in the dugout with two bat boys. Campanella is pictured in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform including a cap, short sleeved jersey, baseball pants, tall socks, cleats, and knee and shin guards. The dugout floor is below the level of the field and Campanella stands on the field, bent at the waist with his backside leaning against a dugout post and both of his hands resting on his proper right knee. On the ground in front of him is a catcher’s glove and protective gear. He is flanked by two young bat boys, one standing in the dugout and one kneeling on the field. Both are wearing Dodgers caps and jackets. They appear to be assisting him with his equipment. The bat boys and Campanella are looking at the camera. Another player sits in the dugout behind Campanella, with a few other individuals seated at the far end. In the background are the stadium seats, mostly empty except for a few individuals.
- The print has a wide, white border with deckled edges. There are no marks or inscriptions, front or back. There are a few small marks and areas of fading and discoloration on the photograph.
