- Description
- An acrylic painting of a man and a woman standing in front of an airport window. The woman is depicted in the center of the work, wearing a long, dark coat, with a light-yellow scarf wrapped loosely around her head and neck, and black sunglasses. She is facing the window but is turned to look over her shoulder at the viewer. The man stands at the left side of the image, wearing a light grey suit with a dark tie, and holding a black briefcase. He faces the viewer with his head looking down, as if he just rose from a seat. The airport window overlooks a large, white airplane with “Ethiopia Airlines” and “12 Months of Sunshine” on the side. Above the plane is a swath of yellow sky and below is a swath of grey pavement. The bottom left corner is unpainted, showing an unvarnished white background. On the verso, handwritten in black marker is the title, “13 Months / of Sunshine” accompanied by a sketch of a shining sun, and the artist’s signature “M. Brutus / 2021.”
