- Description
- An archival inkjet print titled “Untitled (Carl)” by Emory Douglas, former Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party. The graphic-style portrait references the most known image of Carl Hampton, a civil rights leader who founded and organized the People’s Party II in Houston, Texas. Hampton is depicted from the neck up, speaking with his mouth opened, and a light blue background with dark blue rays to create a starburst effect. In the front, lower left quadrant, across Hampton’s jaw, in gray text reads: [Carl].
- The artist signed the print in black ink in the front, lower right corner: [Emory]. Below the signature are the copyright details and a drawing of a black panther.
