Description
A screen print titled “Inauguration Print” by Shepard Fairey. The red, white, and blue poster was made by Fairey at the request of Barack Obama’s campaign office after Obama and Joe Biden won the election in 2008.
At the top of the poster in blue, capitalized text reads [BE THE CHANGE]. Under the text is a headshot of Obama from the chest up wearing a suit with a red tie. Obama’s proper left side of the face and background are highlighted in red and the proper right side of his face and background are blue/grey highlighted in white. He is looking slightly up and into the distance. Obama is flanked on the left by the Capitol building against a blue background and flanked on the right by the White House with a red background. A red “V” with a white stripe in the middle is at the bottom center. Between the V is the U.S. presidential inauguration seal with the year 2009. Below each of the arms of the V are images of a crowd, likely supporters of Obama. At the bottom of the poster in blue, capitalized text reads [JANURARY 20TH 2009].
The edition number is written in the lower left corner [4525/10,000].
