Description
A framed collage titled “See Through” by Sam Gilliam. White paper has been painted, cut into geometric shapes, and arranged to form an abstract and colorful composition against a piece of plywood as a background. The majority of the composition uses textured and mottled earth tones: beiges, greys, blues, and greens. At the center of the work are two linear sections in vibrant red and purple tones as well as a section with bold black marks.
The artist wrote the title and signed the artwork along the bottom edges; on the left: [See Through 1] and on the right [Sam Gilliam ‘97].
