- Description
- A seven color lithograph titled “The Red Bed” by Margo Humphrey. The print depicts a cross-sectional view of a house, showing six rooms in a two-story house. Each floor has three rooms. On the first floor, from left to right, the rooms are a kitchen with a checkered floor, a living room with a couch and tv, and a dining room with a three-seat table and the windows open. On the second floor, from left to right, the rooms are a black, solid color room with the word [SPIRIT / ROOM], a bathroom with yellow curtains, and a bedroom with green armchair, red walls, red curtains, and a red bed. One wall has a cross. A nude couple is embracing on the red bed. The roof of the house is yellow and the entrance to the house has a swing. The sun is painted in the upper left corner. A palm tree painted black is on the right side. The background is a gradient blue.
- The artist wrote the edition, title, signed, and dated the artwork in pencil along the front bottom edge. In the lower left is [2/21], the bottom center ["The Red Bed"], and in the lower right [Margo Humphrey 2005]. On the back of the print, in the lower left corner, is a black ink starburst sun with pencil writing above it [RICPP / 05-309].
