- A screen print from the series “The Legend of John Brown" by Jacob Lawrence. The print depicts Brown sitting at a table, a map and a lantern in front of him. On the proper left side of the table is a chair with a black book and red text block. Objects hang on the walls behind Brown. To the proper left, on the green wall, is a black cross. To the proper right, on the brown wall, a rifle and other weapons.
- On the front of the print, the artist wrote the series number and edition in the lower left corner [#13 12/60] and signed and dated in the lower right corner [Jacob Lawrence 1977].
