Description
A color screen print titled “Tidings” by Romare Bearden. The abstract print utilizes brightly colored segments to depict a Biblical scene of an angel delivering news to a seated individual, possibly Gabriel and Mary. The angel, on the left, has a yellow halo, blue face, green wings, and is holding a document while pointing towards the seated individual with their right hand. The seated individual, on the right, appears with a rounded belly in shades of green and blue with black head, arms, and feet. Their right arm grasps their own left shoulder. The two figures appear in front of segments of bright orange, yellow, and red.
The artwork is signed by the artist on the front, bottom right corner [Romare Bearden] and the title is written on the front, bottom left corner [Tidings].
