- Description
- A color woodcut print titled “Flowers for George Jackson” by Elizabeth Catlett. At the center left is a black and white image of a smiling George Jackson, an incarcerated activist who was killed in prison. In the right lower corner is a black and white image of the face of a child repeated over two rows of three. Along the bottom left corner is a horizontal row of five roses gradient in color from left to right, from scarlet red to canary yellow.
- On the front of the print, the artist signed and dated in the lower right corner, outside of the print area [E. Catlett 1975] and in pencil on the lower left corner, outside of the print area [1/20 Flowers for George Jackson]. On the back of the print, in the upper left corner, is an inscription handwritten in pencil [500].
