- Description
- A silkscreen (serigraph) print “T-Shirt” by Sam Gilliam for the portfolio “Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law, Inc.” organized by Lou Stovall. The print is on a gray background and uses green, blue, and red ink. Gilliam used an actual t-shirt as the stencil, creating a slightly wrinkled shirt outlined in blue at the center. A blue field covers most of the body of the shirt, as well as the bottom of the print and the upper right corner, leaving a slim margin of grey along the right edge from beneath the t-shirt's sleeve to the bottom right corner. Splattered green covers the top left corner and accents around the t-shirt, with a swath of red at the bottom right. The t-shirt’s garment tag is red with white text reading [EQUAL / EMPLOYMENT / OPPORTUNITY / IS THE LAW].
