- Description
- A yellow and black jasperware dish by Wedgwood, released in 1983 in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Great Britain. The circular dish is light yellow ceramic with a relief cameo of the Wedgwood antislavery medallion at the center in black. The medallion design features a Black man kneeling in chains. The dish has a raised and extended circular rim, with the phrase [AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER?] is featured in relief. Engraved on the bottom of the dish is [WEDGWOOD / MADE IN / ENGLAND].
