Description
A glossy color inkjet photographic print of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers kneeling during the anthem at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California, September 1, 2016.
Reid (#35) and Kaepernick (#7) are pictured in the center of the image, kneeling together at the 49ers’ sideline. Kaepernick is on the right, kneeling in his 49ers uniform, with his arms folded and resting on his proper left knee. To the left of him Eric Reid kneels in the same pose, wearing a black 49ers sweatshirt and shorts, his proper left wrist taped and holding a Gatorade bottle in his proper right hand. Free agent Nate Boyer stands to the right of Kaepernick, wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, his hand over his heart. Other players and 49ers staff stand around them in various poses, including Kelvin Taylor (number 23), Jaquiski Tartt (number 29), and Rashard Robinson (number 33). The background shows the crowd in the stands of the stadium beneath bright lights and a light blue sky.
On the verso, at bottom center, are three inscriptions by the photographer: “©Michael Zagaris 9/1/16,” “3 of 50,” and “Colin Kapernick[sic] Kneel for the First Time w/ Eric Reid / And former Green Beret Nate Boyer Standing next to him, San Francisco 49ers 31 at San Diego Chargers 21 / San Diego, CA.”
