- Description
- Ligue belge d’Athlétisme medal awarded to Eulace Peacock on August 20, 1934. The medal is round and silver toned. The obverse of the medal is edged with two concentric circles. In the center of the medal is a relief depiction of the Great Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Belgium. The relief emblem has eight (8) flags at the top above a crown and heraldic banner. Below is mantling draping from the crown. Within the mantling are two (2) lions, standing on hindquarters, framing a shield. The shield is emblazoned with a lion with the royal crown resting on top, and the motto [L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE] on a ribbon banner below. The reverse of the medal is also edged with a concentric circle. A relief depiction of a laurel wreath runs around almost the full inner edge of the circle. Within the wreath is an interior concentric circle with relief text that reads [L.B.A. / MEETING / INTERNATIONAL / BRUXELLES / 20-8-1935].
