- Description
- Penn Athletic Club bronze medal for the 50 Yard Dash awarded to Eulace Peacock in 1938. The obverse of the metal has a circular band running around the edge with relief text inside that reads [PENN ATHLETIC CLUB] at the top and [TRACK MEET] at the bottom. In the center of the medal is a relief depiction of a young William Penn in profile. Surrounding Penn is an interior circular band of a laurel wreath. At the top of the medal, dividing the word [ATHLETIC], is a six pointed star with the letters [PAC] printed in relief in the center. The star is above an eagle with its wings spread wide. At the bottom of the medal is a circle with a relief depiction of the shield with a coat of arms. The shield is flanked on either side by a goddess. On the reverse of the medal is engraved text that reads [50 YARD DASH] at the top and [1938] of the bottom. Along the bottom edge is a stamped maker’s mark for Bailey Banks & Biddle that reads [BB&B BRONZE].
