The medal consists of a blue and yellow ribbon with a safety pin stitched to the back and a bar looped through the bottom of the ribbon, attached to a medal. The circular, silver colored medal is held in place with a jump ring through the bezel. The obverse of the medal has a band of relief text running around the top edge that reads [SURAHAMMARS IDROTTS FORENING]. At the center is a relief depiction of a shield. A banner runs diagonally across the shield with relief text that reads [S·I·F]. Centered above the shield is a five (5) pointed star. Running along the edges of the reverse of the medal is a relief depiction of a laurel garland. Above the garland’s center knot is the relief maker’s mark for Sporrong, [S&Co].
