Description
An unidentified athletics medal awarded to Eulace Peacock. The medal is round with scalloped edges, gold colored, and has a jump ring threaded through a hole at the top. In the center of the obverse of the medal is a relief depiction of a nude male athlete in full length. The athlete is depicted in profile, looking upwards towards a laurel branch he holds above his head with his proper right arm. His proper left foot is held slightly forward and his proper left arm is bent at the elbow and held to his chest. On the right side of the medal is relief depiction of a branch of leaves. The background surface of the medal is leather textured. The reverse of the medal is blank except for a relief maker’s mark at the center that reads, [HE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. / NEWARK N.J.].
