Description
A Southwest Asia Service, Defense of Saudi Arabia 1990-1991 Campaign streamer, owned by Gen. Colin Powell. This forked rayon battle streamer represents United States military service operations led by General Powell, then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in Saudi Arabia, between 1990 and 1991. The streamer is designed with double-sided horizontal colors featuring a tan background with a black border, and black center stripe. On each side of the black center is a dark green stripe. Centered on each side of the dark green stripes are groupings of red, white, and blue stripes. Large white embroidery sewn between each red stripe on the front of the streamer depicts the words “DEFENSE OF SAUDI ARABIA 1990-1991”. A brass grommet hole for hanging is positioned at the center top end of the streamer. There are three vertical staples at the head of the streamer and no additional text on the reverse.
