Description
An albumen print photograph of General Colin L. Powell as a child, captured in Bronx, New York, by Litman’s Studio, 1942. In this sepia tone photograph, a young Colin Powell at or around age five (5) poses in front of a plain photo backdrop. He wears a tweed shorts suit, white shirt, necktie, knee-high socks, and leather loafers. He stands close to a prop table which is waist-high and holds open a paper document while looking at the photographer. The photograph is mounted to its original white mat housing which features a decorative double border and the Litman’s Studio mark and address at the bottom center in black text: [Litman’s Studio / 1067 SO. BOULEVARD / BRONX, N.Y.]. The mount folds in on itself like an envelope to protect the photograph and a white label with black text is adhered to its bottom: [#206327 / Handle with Extreme / care!]. The top flap of the mount, shaped like a scalloped triangle, can be tucked into a circular insert which features an embossed floral symbol. There are no other notable markings
