- A hardcover first edition of General Colin L. Powell’s second autobiographical book, It Worked for Me: In Life and Leadership. The book features a glossy paper jacket over its green and black hardcover. There are no markings on the front and back covers, other than an embossing of the HarperCollins publisher’s logo in the lower right corner of the front cover, and the author, title and publisher's logo printed in silver text on the spine. The paper jacket front features an outdoor photograph portrait of General Powell wearing eyeglasses, a blue and green checkered shirt, and green sweater. In large white text the cover reads: [IT WORKED FOR ME / In Life and Leadership / COLIN POWELL / WITH TONY KOLTZ]. The design continues on the spine of the jacket which includes the author, title, and publisher’s logo. The last numbered page of the book is 238. On the back of the jacket is a color photograph of an active-duty General Powell captured seated outdoors with fellow soldiers, dressed in US Army fatigues.
