- This book belonged to General Colin Powell and his wife Alma. It is inscribed by President George W. Bush, "To Colin & Alma, with respect and affection, George Bush." In December 2000, then President-elect George W. Bush nominated Powell to be Secretary of State. On January 26, 2001, Powell was sworn in as the 65th U.S. Secretary of State, becoming the first African American to serve in that role.

- A signed, hardcover first edition of Decision Points written by President George W. Bush and inscribed to General Colin L. Powell. The book features a glossy color paper jacket over its black hardcover. The black spine displays the book title, author, and publisher name with logo, printed horizontally in gold text. There are no markings on the front and back covers. The jacket front is a large color photograph of President Bush walking past the lined white columns of the White House. He carries a black folio with the U.S. Great Seal in gold printed on the front. He wears a dark suit with belt, U.S. flag pin, white dress shirt, and wide dark patterned necktie. In large white text the front jacket reads: [DECISION POINTS / GEORGE W. / BUSH]. The spine of the jacket features the same text and (cropped) photograph as the cover. Throughout the book are black-and-white and color photographs and the last page is numbered at 497. On the interior title page of the book, inscribed and signed on the bottom half, is a note from President Bush to General Colin L. Powell, “to Colin & Alma / with respect and / affection / George Bush." On the reverse of the jacket is color photograph of President Bush posing for a photo outdoors. He wears a brown-green canvas jacket, blue jean shirt, belt, and dark blue jeans. He holds a large white coffee mug in his proper right hand.
