- This book belonged to General Colin Powell and is inscribed by the author. Henry Kissinger and Powell shared similar careers as high-level political advisors and diplomats. Both men served as U.S. National Security Advisor, with Kissinger serving under Nixon and Ford from 1969 to 1975, and Powell serving under President Reagan from 1987 to 1989. Both men also served as U.S. Secretary of State. Kissinger served under Presidents Nixon and Ford from 1973 to 1977, and Powell served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005.

- A signed, hardcover first edition of On China written by Henry Kissinger with a personal inscription to General Colin L. Powell. The hardcover book features a glossy white paper jacket over its grey hardcover. The grey spine displays the book title, author, and publisher name, printed vertically in white text. The lone marking on the front hardcover is “Henry Kissinger” in white text. There are no markings on the back cover. The jacket front features large black and red text, “Henry / Kissinger / On / China”. The spine of the jacket features the same text as the cover. Throughout the book are black-and-white photographs and the last page is numbered at 586. On the front title page, inscribed and signed in black ink, is a note from Kissinger to General Colin L. Powell, “To / Colin Powell / for his inspirational / public service / from his friend / Henry A. Kissinger / April 2011”. On the reverse of the white jacket is a summary of the contents.
